I got an assignment from the Wall Street Journal last week to photograph Anne West at Wellesley College. She is studying her family’s genome to find unusually specific information about her and her family’s health, including the likelihood of certain diseases. You can read the full story here.

Are you surprised that I do fashion? Me too. But, I might need to broaden my scope after a really fun two-day shoot with Samantha and Kathryn from 9tailors. They did a great job of organizing everything and picking some of their most stylish clients who were also a lot of fun to work with. I should also say here that I’m not only the 9tailors 2011 fall fashion shoot photographer . . . I’m also a client. If you’ve ever seen me at a wedding and couldn’t quite put a finger on why I looked so dashing, now you know it’s the suit. Amazing things happen when clothes fit.

I photographed a tap class in Bedford for the Wall Street Journal’s What’s Your Workout section a couple of weeks ago. It was a nice little reminder that if I want to exercise consistently I should probably find something fun to do. The dancers in the class were working up a sweat and having a good time doing it. As long as I don’t have to wear anything sparkle-y I would definitely give it a try.

Last month I worked on a story for the Wall Street Journal that explored voter impatience. Is two years all you get to solve long-term problems? The reporter and I went to a debate in Concord and talked with other New Hampshire residents in Manchester about their thoughts on the pendulum swing between elections. Two weeks ago I spent the evening with the Harvard University seniors that developed the “The Unofficial Guide to Life at Harvard” app on the iPhone. For the first time in my life I sat for hours at an airport praying for snow. I was assigned to document Logan’s hi-tech snow removal operations Wednesday, but unfortunately the snow didn’t accumulate until after deadline. Instead of riding shotgun in a Vammas, I attended the snow planning meetings before spending the next few hours waiting in a conference room up in the tower. Luckily the view wasn’t bad.

President Clinton came to Worcester again on Friday. It’s amazing how someone can string together a coherent, witty, logical and noteless 30-minute oration without so much as a stutter. Truly impressive. And I’m going to pretend I’m not offended that no one asked me if I wanted my picture taken with him this time.

Don’t forget to vote tomorrow, Massachusetts. It’s important.
