Juliana and Patrick

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Juliana and Patrick a few times before their wedding. So, when the big day rolled around I already felt like part of the crew. Juliana and Patrick had their reception at the beautiful Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington, CT. It was a wonderful evening that included a Thanksgiving-inspired family-style dinner, an amazing a cappella version of Dave Matthew’s Two Step, and a big table of home-made sweets. Great people, great wedding. Thanks for including me, guys!

Katie and Lucas

I didn’t have the chance to meet Katie and Lucas before their wedding, but they are both so full of energy and humor that I felt relaxed and among friends right away. They had their ceremony and reception at the Sherborn Inn. There was rain in the early afternoon, but it all cleared up in time for people to enjoy the patio after the ceremony and use it to cool off during the dancing. And there was a lot of dancing. Congratulations, Katie and Lucas!

Annie and Davis

You might remember Annie and Davis from their March engagement session. They live in Texas but came back to Annie’s hometown for a beautiful wedding at the Four Seasons in Boston. Annie got ready at her parents house in Newton before heading downtown where Davis was getting ready with the boys. I’ve had a great time getting to know Annie and Davis, and it was wonderful to find out there friends and family were just as charming as they are. Congratulations, guys!

Kaia and Ben

Kaia and Ben got married at Ben’s parent’s house in Gloucester. Backyard weddings are some of my favorite to photograph not just because of the easy-going vibe, but because of the significance of the setting. That can add so much more depth to pictures as time goes on. While Ben got ready at his parent’s house, Kaia had friends come over to hangout at her and Ben’s place not far away. They opted against many of the traditional reception events and just let the evening unfold naturally and organically. It was an elegant wedding with all the comforts of a backyard party. One where all the people most important to you show up.

Larisa and Chris

Larisa and Chris actually got married last year. However, having all your friends and family in one place is a rare opportunity, and they didn’t want to spend the day posing for pictures. But, they do want some nice pictures of the two of them. Almost a year later we spent an evening on Crane Beach in Ipswich getting some fun pictures of just the two of them in their wedding-best. Larisa and Chris earned all my respect when the mosquitos and gnats came out and tried to eat them alive. They ate me up, too, but it didn’t matter if I looked miserable. These guys are pros.

Rebecca and Kevin

Rebecca and Kevin are teachers at Beaver Country Day School. The two met there so it was only appropriate that they marry there, too. I love photographing in settings that are meaningful to the people in them. Rebecca and Kevin did a great job of making this familiar environment even more personal. Rebecca is a talented artist and made nearly everything for the wedding. Including the paper bouquets, paper boutonnieres, paper centerpieces, escort cards and even Kevin’s bow tie. And I’ve got to give a shout out to Soul City for being one of the best bands I’ve ever seen at a wedding. I’m guessing the Beaver Country Day School has never had a dance quite like this one. No awkward slow dances here.

Karen and Daniel

Karen and Daniel had an afternoon wedding at the beautiful Belmont Habitat. Before that, Daniel got ready and came to Karen’s apartment where her family held a brief tea ceremony. The rain stayed away for the important parts of the day, and then the skies opened up for a magnificent storm. It was so spectacular everyone stopped to watch it. Rain can be inconvenient on a wedding day, but when nature creates such a display it’s a privilege to witness. Especially on a day that’s already so memorable.

Lauren and Daniel

Lauren and Daniel had a beautiful ceremony at the Swedenborg Chapel before an intimate reception at the Harvard Faculty Club. Since they’re not sure where they’ll be after graduating from the Harvard Divinity School next year, it was the perfect way to treat their friends and family to Cambridge, the place where they started their life together.

Sandra and Jason

The Overbrook House is one of my favorite venues. In addition to it being a beautiful setting, I love how walking into it feels like a private home. Sandra and Jason really just wanted their wedding to be an opportunity to spend quality time with the people closest to them, and there’s not many better places to do that around here. Friends and family spent the whole weekend on the property swimming, doing yoga, dancing, eating, and just relaxing. It was a privilege to help bear witness to such a rare and special opportunity. Thank you, Sandra and Jason.

Elise and Matt

If you follow Texas politics you might be able to thank Elise and Matt for keeping you informed. They both live and work in Texas but decided on an intimate wedding celebration in Amsterdam. The destination was a wonderful treat for their friends and family traveling from the States as well as from China and Taiwan. Even though my roundtrip travel time almost equaled my hours there, it was still one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had shooting a wedding (or at all). The setting was second to the witty, generous and charming people I had the pleasure of spending 48 hours in Amsterdam with.
