Allison and Steve started the engagement session off with Nagroni’s. It always helps to take the edge off a little before you go out in public with a photographer in tow. We began at the apartment they’ve lived in for more than three years and then ventured out into the neighborhood. Allison and Steve were great photo subjects, but I mainly just enjoyed their company. Can’t wait for the wedding next year!
You might remember Rebecca and Björn from their engagement session last year. It’s no surprise their great taste showed up in their wedding plans. The five course tasting menu, the thoughtful wine pairings and the art from their home were all very nice touches. Rebecca and Björn were great hosts at their Willowdale Estate wedding and I had a lot of fun documenting the beautiful day. Congratulations, Rebecca and Björn!

Hannah and Colin’s wedding was at Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, RI. I didn’t have the chance to meet Hannah and Colin before the wedding, but I felt extremely comfortable with them and their families. The ceremony by the water was simply beautiful, and the reception was a lot of fun. I’m so happy for these two and honored to have been the one to document the beginning of this next chapter. Congratulations, Hannah and Colin!
Marisa and Josh got married in Portsmouth, NH at the Hilton Garden Inn and the One Hundred Club. The wedding was not all that big, but the wedding party was, and they definitely set a festive tone. They were responsible for some of my favorite photos from the day. Marisa and Josh were both incredibly sweet, and I had a great time celebrating with them. Congratulations, guys!

To be in a position to take care of others, you need to take care of yourself first. When not at work, Brooke is either responding to Ellis’ needs or to those of her bearded adult baby who also needs attention. If she’s lucky, she might get an episode or two of The Mindy Project each night where nobody is asking anything of her. So, I was glad to see her find clothes not covered in spit-up and go out with a friend to experience a life where no one demands anything of her. She really benefited without missing anything at home. Ellis and I were there with all our needs when she returned.

Christine and Clayton aren’t most comfortable being the center of attention. They made the wedding day seem familiar by having it at the family home, and after the ceremony Christine changed into a cute blue dress to blend in with their loved ones instead of feeling like she was standing out. I loved the relaxed and understated tone Christine and Clayton set for their wedding. Photographing it was fun, but so was just being there. Congratulations, guys!

Rina and Ian got married at the Essex Conference Center. Family and friends came from all over the world to celebrate in the art-filled retreat in the woods. I didn’t have the opportunity to meet Rina and Ian before the wedding, and it was a treat to find out how nice they were and how sweet they are together as a couple. Congratulations, guys! I’m really happy for you both.
Melissa and Markus are still adorable. While shooting their wedding at The Hawthorne I found out where they get it from. Their families were so charming and affectionate. My job was made easy by all the laughs and subtle expressions. The massive palm of cake to the face was also memorable. I know there still has to be butter cream frosting residue somewhere in Markus’ glasses. Congratulations, guys!
Denise and I could not make the wedding of best friends son and fellow Eagle Scout of our son John. Markus has vacationed with us fishing in Idaho and was our son’s MC at his Eagle Scout presentation.
Those two kids appear made for each other.
I think Markus gets his sense of humor from mother and dad who are gems in their own right.

Ellis’ nursery is ocean-themed. His middle name is a local beach. His parents love the sea and are hell-bent on making sure their son does, too. If we don’t manufacture every component of Ellis’ destiny then who will? He was born in the winter, so Ellis didn’t make his first trip to the beach (at least one where he was awake) until he was four months old. I’m not sure he completely understood all the fun that awaits him in the coming years, but I saw him eyeing the sand. He’s going to love eating it.
Can I flatter myself for a second and tell you that Jackie and I are cut from the same cloth? We are both newspaper photographers turned wedding photographers. I was so honored that she and Nicole invited me to document their beautiful mountain-top wedding in Littleton, NH. All of their family and friends were so welcoming, and the intimacy of the small gathering aligned with the intimate expressions and moments Jackie and Nicole shared with each other and their loved ones. Their adorable son Zachary is lucky to have two pretty awesome moms. Congratulations, Jackie and Nicole!
