Contest: Best of 2009

I worked with so many great couples in 2009, and I wanted to honor them with some of my favorite moments. On this blog I do my best to be a tight editor and scrutinize the work so only the most relevant, story-telling pictures remain. But picking a single picture from each wedding is just silly. I did it though. It hurt a little, but I did it.

To make things fun, the couple whose image receives the most votes from blog readers will win a $200 gift certificate to Salts in Cambridge, MA.

You can cast your vote at the bottom of this post (be sure to click the VOTE button at the BOTTOM of the poll). Put your friends and family to work!

Fine print: Out-of-state winners, and those who prefer, can opt for a $200 American Express gift card instead of the Salts gift certificate. The voting will end at 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday February 1, 2010.

Voice

President Clinton came to Worcester again on Friday. It’s amazing how someone can string together a coherent, witty, logical and noteless 30-minute oration without so much as a stutter. Truly impressive. And I’m going to pretend I’m not offended that no one asked me if I wanted my picture taken with him this time.

Don’t forget to vote tomorrow, Massachusetts. It’s important.

Jamie and Jeremy

Jamie and Jeremy picked a great winter’s night to warm themselves with the presence of close friends and family. Fresh snow dusted the ground, and everyone gathered to celebrate Jamie and Jeremy’s new commitment to one another and welcome in the new year. The Westin Waltham was the backdrop, and DJ Jerry B set the tone for the evening. I have a feeling my 2010 is going to be that much better for being there. Thanks, Jamie and Jeremy!

Aliza and Chaim » Channing Johnson Photography - […] nearly 30 min. I got swept up in the wedding and loved every minute of it. Happy Holidays

From here until next Monday my e-mail and phone correspondence might be a little delayed. I’ll likely be hugging my grandma, baking cookies, feasting with my in-laws, napping in the living room with my dad, watching my nephew open presents, eating mom’s egg casserole, or kissing my wife underneath the plastic mistletoe.

For now, I’ll leave you with a behind-the-scenes look at the Johnson-family 2009 holiday card (to see the real thing click here). Happy Holidays!

Jen - hilarious. I love your expressions (or lack thereof)!December 22, 2009 – 5:44 pm

Mark - That leather couch on the right looks SO comfortable.December 22, 2009 – 11:11 am

Patty and Anthony

If everyone in Texas is as kind, generous, fun, and thoughtful as Patty and Anthony, Channing Johnson Photography might just have to set up a satellite office in Southern Texas (especially if every Lone Star wedding includes a mariachi band). I’m going to let the pictures do the talking and hope they convey how much fun I had and how special this experience was. Congratulations, Patty and Anthony. Thanks so much for including me in your amazing wedding weekend.

connie miller - love the shot of the priest and the wedding party running across the lawn.January 4, 2010 – 3:54 pm

Keith - Great photos, as always man. I attended a church service in that mission a few months back when Moni and I were in San Antonio (we were living in Houston at the time). It was incredible inside and how cool that you were able to shoot a wedding there. That Whataburger has quite a following indeed.December 21, 2009 – 3:48 pm

ashley o'dell - The shot of the priest is ridiculous! Best I’ve seen!December 20, 2009 – 3:48 pm

Alison and Paul

I met up with Alison and Paul on one of the coldest days of the winter so far. We were slow to brave the cold and lingered around the apartment to take some pictures. In the middle of our trek through the South End we snuck into Aquitaine to get a drink and warm our extremities. At one point I lost the feeling in a thumb, but getting to know Alison and Paul was worth the sharp cold. The two are incredibly charming and both do interesting and thoughtful work (here and here). I can’t wait for their Chatham wedding in September.
