This weekend Brooke and I kept an eye on Little Buddy to free up his parents to cross some things off their to-do lists. We had all kinds of fun drawing with crayons (“No eat.”), reading books, and my favorite, napping. I like being an uncle.
I just got back from my first trip to Texas. In addition to shooting a fun wedding in San Antonio, I even had time to see the Alamo and visit an old friend in Austin. There was a bit of a weather role reversal as I left a 66-degree Boston for a snow-forecasted Texas. As if Patty and Anthony hadn’t already done enough to make me feel at home all weekend, they also dropped the temperature. Check back soon to see how they do weddings in Southern Texas. You’ll be impressed.
I was a guest at Matt and Colleen’s wedding, but I’m glad I also got a chance to hang out with the boys before the ceremony. The talented Connie Miller did the heavy lifting on this one though. You can see the ladies getting ready and the rest of her beautiful record of the day here.
Heather and Tom met me at 6:15 a.m. for an engagement shoot. We didn’t know which was more absurd, that people were exercising at that hour, or that we were taking pictures. As painful as it can be initially, I love that time of day. And it was wonderful spending it with Heather and Tom as we walked from the Charles River to Central Square. We were wrapping up and eating breakfast at 1369 Coffee House by the time everyone else was leaving for work. What a great way to start the day.

I love this! Especially the hands closeup and the feet/sidewalk w/the pole graphic in the distance.November 22, 2009 – 6:19 pm
That first shot was sooo worth getting up at 6AM for!November 21, 2009 – 4:39 pm
absolutely beautiful set Channing.Photographing in the city is fun, but it’s sometimes nice to mix things up and find a quiet place. I’m glad Ari and Ben suggested Walden Pond. None of us had been before, at least not as adults, and I really enjoyed the blank page this new place provided. Making pictures is the reason for these engagement sessions, but getting to know a couple is usually what makes the process so rewarding. Thanks, Ari and Ben. I’ll be looking forward to September!

That top photo with the shadows and their faces in light is nuts. You’re killing me!Brooke and I felt bad that Mark and Meagan’s beautiful guest room wasn’t seeing as much traffic as the rest of the house. So, we went down to Dennis for the night. We had a great time eating, drinking and storytelling. I can’t wait for the guest room to get lonely again.

Dennis has very very pretty light. Tasty looking pancakes, too :)November 13, 2009 – 6:21 pm
You know, I almost mentioned how you jumped on the Aunt Jemima grenade to allow your guests to enjoy the last sweet drops of real maple syrup. Not everyone would be so selfless. I’m not sure I would be.November 13, 2009 – 12:56 pm
Sorry for the inferior syrup, as a Canadian I am ashamed.Courtney and Chris won’t be living in the North End forever. So, we decided it would be a good idea to record them in a place they’ve felt lucky to call home. We wandered the small streets and even explored past Haymarket and onto the Common. Although they’ll miss the great food and neighborhood feel when they leave, they said they definitely won’t be missing the parking. Thanks for inviting me to the neighborhood, Courtney and Chris. I can’t wait for the wedding.
