Brooke and I were in Asheville for a wedding (as guests!) but saw my mother at the airport for literally 3 minutes as we arrived in Charlotte and she boarded a plane to leave. Luckily we were able to see my dad for longer, especially since Father’s Day was that weekend. We got a tour of his garden that has doubled in variety and size since I lived at home. In addition to corn and squash, now there’s also grape vines and peach trees. He’s running out of space.
Lauren and Daniel had a beautiful ceremony at the Swedenborg Chapel before an intimate reception at the Harvard Faculty Club. Since they’re not sure where they’ll be after graduating from the Harvard Divinity School next year, it was the perfect way to treat their friends and family to Cambridge, the place where they started their life together.

The entrance into the church is phenomenal, what more do you need!June 20, 2010 – 2:55 am
beautiful, love the second one.The Overbrook House is one of my favorite venues. In addition to it being a beautiful setting, I love how walking into it feels like a private home. Sandra and Jason really just wanted their wedding to be an opportunity to spend quality time with the people closest to them, and there’s not many better places to do that around here. Friends and family spent the whole weekend on the property swimming, doing yoga, dancing, eating, and just relaxing. It was a privilege to help bear witness to such a rare and special opportunity. Thank you, Sandra and Jason.

love the colorsIf you follow Texas politics you might be able to thank Elise and Matt for keeping you informed. They both live and work in Texas but decided on an intimate wedding celebration in Amsterdam. The destination was a wonderful treat for their friends and family traveling from the States as well as from China and Taiwan. Even though my roundtrip travel time almost equaled my hours there, it was still one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had shooting a wedding (or at all). The setting was second to the witty, generous and charming people I had the pleasure of spending 48 hours in Amsterdam with.
Thanks so much for inviting me, Elise and Matt.

creative and beautiful storytelling, as usual, dear. the photographs from this wedding are just magical.June 11, 2010 – 11:14 am
What an experience! Such a beautiful collection and so many things here that I love. They had a beautiful setting, but one of the things I like best about your photos is that you really capture all of these exchanges and fleeting moments — I think it’s the hardest thing to do and you do it so well.June 3, 2010 – 10:11 pm
Channing, where ever you go, the magic light and special moments follow. Excellent work!June 3, 2010 – 5:22 pm
Channing, this is by far my favorite of your wedding work! They are all so interesting!!June 3, 2010 – 3:04 pm
WOW! These are AMAZING! You did a wonderful job photographing this wedding! Congrats Elise and Matt!!I’ve been looking forward to this wedding ever since Heather and Tom’s engagement session. And I certainly wasn’t let down. They did a great job designing their wedding to reflect their personalities and honor their friends and family. They chose the Artists for Humanity EpiCenter in South Boston which was a great venue for the celebration. Congratulations, Heather and Tom!

Beautiful! As always. You are a magical camera man!Brett lives in Kentucky. Ryan lives in Michgan. Last weekend we converged on Louisville to catch up. We ate bar-b-que, drank beer made in bourbon barrels, made fires, introduced Ryan to FNL, hung out with the wonderful Stephanie and Stephen, listened to Conway Twitty and Tom T. Hall, pulled muscles at the Louisville Slugger batting cages, and reminisced about the glory days at the Midland Daily News.
I kind of fell in love with Louisville. I reckon I’ll be back. I have to anyway. We never made it to Colonel Sanders’ grave.

love these!Lauren and Daniel met on their first day at the Harvard Divinity School. They just finished up their second year in the program, so we explored the beautiful buildings on their part of the campus before making our way to the river. It was great to get to know Lauren and Daniel better and hear about the exciting possibilities that await them when they graduate next year. I’m also really looking forward to their ceremony at the Swedenborg Chapel. It’s going to be beautiful.

Yum! Recipe, please.I recently contributed to a Wall Street Journal story about the job market for law students graduating this year. Northeastern University law student Alexis Smith was kind enough to walk around campus with me to get some pictures to go along with this interesting story.

My alma mater….the law school isn;t the prettiest of buildings although it has improved some since my tenure but some great shots nonetheless!May 10, 2010 – 12:26 pm
Oh my god! I just read that article the other day – didn’t even think to check out the photo credit, but perhaps now I should start doing that!
