Breakfast

We’re lucky enough to live a long walk or short car ride from the Orange Line. Brooke can take a quick bus ride to the train for her relatively comfortable commute. Although more often than not her husband drives her to Oak Grove. Negotiations usually start shortly after the morning alarm and often tip in Brooke’s favor in the event of inclement weather, a late night, or a well-placed pouty face. None of that was present in the morning pictured below. Brooke was in a race against time to finish her cereal and catch the bus.

ema - This picture is great. I’m gonna miss you guys! Luckily I will keep enjoying you both thru your artworksJune 29, 2012 – 11:46 pm

Brenna Jennings - My favorite part is the crooked clock. What I learned from you is that settings don’t have to be perfect to make beautiful photos, they just have to be perfectly authentic.June 27, 2012 – 10:23 pm

Anthony - Amazing, haha. Miss you guys!June 27, 2012 – 7:03 pm

Melissa and Mike

So, it rained a little. Big deal. When you’re surrounded by your family and closest friends a little moisture in the air (ok, a lot in this case) doesn’t make a significant difference. Melissa and Mike were married in Kennebunkport at South Congregational Church before moving onto the Nonatum Resort for a really fun reception. I love traveling to Maine’s coast for any reason, and traveling there to spend time with a great group of people was a privilege.

Aiyana - These are beautiful! What a wonderful day!! I’m sooo happy for you two and wish you all the luck (and babies) in the world! Enjoy each other – what a great start! BTW – It rained on my wedding day too! Its good luck, I hear. We’re in year 13 or 14 depending on how you count ;)June 21, 2012 – 9:51 pm

Camping

One of my favorite things to do that I never think to do is go camping. Luckily our friends Jo and Dave invited us to join them for a night on Tully Lake. As my eyes alternately got lost in the campfire and in the stars, I couldn’t believe Brooke and I didn’t get away like this more often. Jo and Dave were great camping companions. They not only kept us from getting eaten by bears but made sure we camped in comfort. We may not be able to get away like that often, so I think I’m going to buy a fishing pole. I don’t care if I catch anything. I just want the excuse to go do nothing.

Sarah and Ben

Sarah and Ben were married at Giorgio’s in Baiting Hollow, NY. This was my first time traveling to Long Island. I can’t wait to go back again, especially if the weather is 80 degrees all year round and everybody dances this much. Sarah and Ben live in London and are moving to China, so you could tell they were soaking up the beauty of having all the people important to them in one place. The wedding was lots of fun, and I’m so glad I could be a part of it. Congratulations, Sarah and Ben!

Sunmi - I am so sad I wasn’t able to make it to Sarah and Ben’s wedding, but I love the way you captured the moments. Thanks for making me feel like I was there. :)

PS. I have spent the past hour clicking through your posts instead of studying for the exams that prevented me from attending this wedding in the first place…June 10, 2012 – 4:15 am

Assistant

People often ask me if Brooke comes to weddings with me. There was that one time early on I thought I might need more help with wrangling family members for portraits, so I had her show up just for that part of the day. But nobody knew her, and she didn’t know anyone else, and it didn’t go so well. I realized I didn’t need an assistant, I just needed to yell louder. Honestly, I’m not good at telling anyone what to do, least of all my wife. Although certain weddings I travel for lend themselves to Brooke coming along. I wouldn’t call it a vacation, but it’s nice to spend that time together we wouldn’t have otherwise. And Brooke is particularly skilled at reading by a pool or watching movies in hotel rooms while I’m searching for missing cousins at cocktail hour. This past weekend I had a wedding on Long Island. In addition to having someone to dine with the night before (below), it made me really happy to have her on the five-hour journey belting all the latest pop songs together.

Ann - <3 Love you two! xoMay 31, 2012 – 11:38 pm

Phyllis - A person who is skilled at reading by the pool will never be bored.May 24, 2012 – 6:11 pm

Peyton and Chris

Peyton and Chris got married on Isle of Palms in South Carolina. Their friends and family joined them for several days of relaxation by the water at Wild Dunes. I’ve known Chris and the family since I shot his brother’s wedding four years ago. It made total sense to find out Peyton and her family are as equally warm and welcoming. Maybe it was the perfect weather, or the endless fruity drinks, but I can’t imagine this weekend being any more fun than it was. I feel really lucky to have been a part of it. Congratulations, Peyton and Chris!

halfpintdynamite - Channing, my heart is overflowing with joy for these two incredibly beautiful (inside and out) young people! As one of their thousands of fans, I first “met” them on their respective seasons on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, and fell “in love” with them for how they were portrayed – as people of integrity and respect, and for their love of family.

I’m so grateful to them for their willingness to share with their fans such an intimate occasion – their wedding. They have made me feel so honored by their choosing to share their special time with us.

And I’m particularly thrilled they had you as their photographer – you are so gifted, and you have captured perfectly the deep love they have for each other. Thanks to you, they will have incredible pictures to relive their beautiful day! Everything was perfect!May 19, 2012 – 7:42 pm

Irma Schwerdle - Thank You so much for sharing such beautiful pictures of Chris and Peyton’s wedding day. I will share them so many of their Baby Boomer and Senior fans. We all became fans of Chris on his season of the Bachelorette and of course Peyton’s season on the Bachelor with Andy Baldwin and her return on Bachelor Pad. Many of us felt Chris had found his soulmate from the moment they spent the weekend together with friends in the Hamptons and we were silently cheering them on throughout their courtship, engagement, their marriage and are now all watching them on their new show “Going Yard” Fate, and I am sure a great deal of help from a Mom who sends rainbows certainly played a hand in bringing them together.

Your beautiful photographs will allow us all to share in the wonderful memories of their big day and we wish them a lifetime of joy and happiness together on the Cape.

Once again Thank You for sharing with the many older fans that are following and supporting Chris and Peyton.

Sincerely

Irma SchwerdleMay 19, 2012 – 2:07 pm

Shaun and David

Shaun and David know how to plan a wedding. They boiled everything down to the most important elements and focused an entire evening on long conversations and quality time with their closest friends and family. Shaun and David also really wanted to share their city with all their guests. There are few locations that do this as well as the Boston Public Library. It was truly beautiful. Congratulations, Shaun and David!

Pizzuti - just awesome! I agree with Brenna on the sec. guard shot… nice work!May 16, 2012 – 8:13 am

Brenna - The wedding is gorgeous, but the security guard at the window is my favorite shot.May 14, 2012 – 1:06 pm

Peyton and Chris

Here’s a sneak peak of Peyton and Chris’ wedding this past weekend in South Carolina. Be sure to check out the premiere of their show Going Yard on HGTV this Saturday and the corresponding article and wedding photos in the most recent edition of US Weekly. A full wedding post will be up in the next few weeks. I’m just hoping a small piece of this wedding’s huge spirit comes through in the photos. The whole weekend was amazing.

Diana DiCenso - I am so happy for Chris and Peyton they are an amazing couple. So genuine.May 15, 2012 – 7:04 pm

Lewis Alberti - Channing,

Not only was the wedding amazing, so is your talent and ability to capture the moment for all of us to see and share for years to come! Great job!!May 10, 2012 – 1:10 pm
