It wasn’t too long ago that I met up with Margaret and Hugo for their engagement session in Rockport. Spending time with them on their wedding day was also a lot of fun. Their playfulness and affection was even more pronounced around their families and friends and on such a significant day. The ceremony was at theĀ Cathedral of the Holy Cross followed by a gorgeous reception at the State Room. The day was absolutely beautiful, and I was honored to be a part of it. Congratulations, Margaret and Hugo!
Nicole and Dave were married at Kinney Bungalow in Narragansett, RI. It was a great setting for their very personal but inclusive ceremony. Lots of friends and family spoke and wished the best for Nicole and Dave. Two friends were even the MC’s for the evening which gave the reception another personal touch. It was an honor to bear witness to so much love all in one place. Congratulations, Nicole and Dave!
The one shot you always capture (and the one shot that always gets me) is the one of an older couple – parents, grandparents, maybe, but it’s always a couple much older than the bride and groom – and they’re dancing, eyes closed or holding hands at a table and smiling at each other.
And you just know they’ve been together though a lot of better, worse, sickness, health, rich and poor, good and bad…and you always catch them in a tiny moment where the love the pulls them together is the one thing you see.
You seem to always get that shot. Gorgeous. I love it.
All the best…:)May 20, 2011 – 3:24 pm

The one of the rose petal path after the ceremony is over and the chairs put away is evocative and lovely.May 10, 2011 – 9:56 pm
I love the screen and bouquet shots! Neat perspective.I have been to Rockport once before, but it wasn’t until Margaret and Hugo showed me around I realized how little I had actually seen. We walked through the little streets, along the rocks, the sandy beach and even found a beautiful park above the shore. Getting to know Margaret and Hugo better was a lot of fun, and I can’t wait for their wedding next month.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but sometimes you’re so good I hate you.Despite trying to play it cool, I kind of freaked out when Ashley asked me to shoot her and Eric’s wedding. Ashley is one of my favorite wedding photographers so the fact that they even considered me meant a lot. Then there was that part about it being in Italy. Tuscany inspired Brooke and me (I think we decided on buying a villa and spending our summers there. I’ll fly back on the weekends for weddings). But, we were also really touched by Ashley and Eric and their 10 special guests who treated us like part of the family. We had an amazing week. Thank you, Ashley and Eric.
p.s. If you’re contemplating an Italian wedding, call Brenda. She’s awesome. Oh, and stay here.

I love the moments you captured, the way you tell the story. It is not the matter of how skillful you are or how good your camera is, but of how you “feel” for the moments. You’re inspiring me with your documentary style. Keep it up and I hope more and more people will treasure moments like you do. Bravo.April 17, 2011 – 9:00 am

Thank you, Channing, for capturing the love and the extraordinary personalities of Ashley and Eric. Incredible pictures and a true tribute to the wedding of the year! What a way to start the wedding season!Ok, ok. This is the last pre-wedding post. I just wanted to share a few more from Ashley and Eric’s time in Italy. Forgive me. I was over-stimulated for days-on-end which will result in a lot of pictures. Full wedding blog post coming shortly. Promise.
